Very interesting subject, the
subject that you face every day or better to say every hour, in different
ways, in traffic, in Gov. offices, in the market etc; Also good article to
show how can we manage our temper. But before all that, we should see,
what is behind ANGER, the speed of losing control and impatience. In
brief:
1- Genetics: Genetically this
behaviour can be transmitted from parents to the children.
2- Acquired Familial Behaviour:
a boy learns how to shout like his father and a girl can learn her
mother's characteristics, No! look around your own family and see what a
large number of actions are imitated by your children.
3- Personality: people with
personality type A lose their temper easier than the other types.
4- Degree of education and type
of education such as a literature teacher vs a mathematics teacher.
5- Type of education: compare a
psychiatrist with an army colonel.
6, 7, 8..........
Every body knows he/she should
control him/herself, but losing their temper happens much sooner than all
the above mentioned precautions could occur. The fastest reflex in Man is
the eye reflex 0.7 second, I believe losing the temper and getting angry
is much faster, so there is no time to sit down and think what to do. I
think aging is a very important factor for having patience, and being
careful about children and our behaviour in front of them.

Well, yes, Rome was not built in a day, but is it something to be proud
of? Would it have harmed anyone if they had done it a bit faster? Why should it
be taken for granted that patience is a virtue at all, a desirable ability we
should try hard to achieve? What do you think of this quotation by Lyman Abbott?
Patience is passion tamed.
Is passion tamed, passion at all?
Would you even go as far as agreeing
with George Granville who said:
Patience is the virtue of an ass, who treads beneath his burden and
complains not.
Well, let's first see if we should try to be more patient at all and then start
finding ways to do so!

In my idea this article is very useful. Some times we lose patience therefore we
do not reach our goals.

It is hard for me to describe my strategies to
keep patient because I can’t always do this. For an employed mother with two
children it’s very hard to keep patient when both children are shouting and asking
something unreasonable. Please take a look at your own picture. Is it simple to
have smile in such a situation?
